Simulating a Self-Healing Threat Detection System: How Simple Neurons Voting Together Achieve Complex Protection
Further to
a proof of concept Jupyter notebook was created for the application of the ‘Trinity’ AI model for the purpose of network threat detection and mitigation. This initial series of simulations was expanded in the notebook to a 2/3 voting and macro evolutionary model. This initial series of simulations is available on Google Colab.
Further to this a nested 3/5 voting model was created whereby 5 3/5 models were nested at the meso scale into a 3/5 model at the macro scale. This, too, is available on Google Colab.

We built a threat detection system that works like a digital immune system. It’s made of simple, specialized components that vote together to make decisions. Think of it as five security teams (agents), each with five sub-teams (inner systems), each with 50-100 specialists (neurons). Each specialist knows one attack type really well. They vote. Their teams vote. The security teams vote. Only when there’s strong consensus do we declare an attack.

Under continuous simulated attack, the system kept working. Accuracy dipped, false positives rose, but it never crashed. It’s like a guard dog that might bark at shadows during a storm but definitely barks at burglars.

Each component adjusts its own confidence based on experience. Get things right? Confidence goes up. Get things wrong? Health deteriorates until it resets with fresh parameters. No data scientist needed, no model retraining.

We achieved 89% accuracy with threshold checks and voting. No neural networks, no gradient descent, no massive datasets. Just simple rules executed consistently across distributed components.
